Illustrating a year's cycle of celebrations - New Year's festivities, shrine visit on First Day of the Horse, wisteria viewing, Boys Festival (Iris Festival), Ice Offering Festival, Urabon (Obon) Festival to honor ancestral spirits, moon viewing, Chrysanthemum Festival, autumn color viewing, viewing of migratory birds, and New Year preparations - the paintings also beautifully portray seasonal changes in nature.
